They have a varied background, and all bring their own skills to complement and help set the strategic direction of Tassibee.

Sughra has 25 years’ experience working in Education and specialises in community learning; governance; ESOL. She is bilingual and has a vast experience of working with organisations across different communities.
KEITH GILSON (TREASURER)
Keith has a construction background, he brings his project and financial management background. He was the chairperson of the 4Good Fund and has previously been an assessor.
Ruth brings 10 years’ experience of management within the Voluntary Sector. She has a background in funding, business planning, supervision and Monitoring and Evaluation. She provides supervision to Khalida.
Shabina is a young mum and Social Work student. She has an excellent understanding of young people, social care and health issues. She started at Tassibee as a volunteer and joined the board 5 years ago.
Khatija started as a service user at Tassibee. She is now a carer and volunteers to deliver cultural events within Tassibee and works with other organisations across South Yorkshire.
Sumeera is a teacher in a local college and has partnerships with many local organisations within Rotherham. She brings her experience in ESOL, working with DWP and supporting women to access education and getting them into work.
Hanfia joined the Tassibee board in July 2019 as she wants to be a part of great cause that offers gender specific support to the women of Rotherham. She is a keen advocate for women’s services and enjoys supporting vulnerable women through a holistic and all-compassing approach. Hanfia has a vision that Tassibee will go from strength to strength in terms of community development and outreach work
Tassibee also bring in co-opted members, when we identify any gaps in the Board skills. Currently there are two co-opted members working with the Trustees:
Julie has vast experience working in health and social care with the local government. She provides supervision to the staff members, supports Tassibee with policy development and provides Health and Safety expertise to the Board.
Janine brings her background from working within Local Government Commissioning. She also brings support in areas such as mental health, funding, strategic planning, marketing as well as Monitoring and Evaluation.
