Thanks to funding from South Yorkshire’s Community Foundation, Tassibee Centre will be running a series of IT workshops over the coming months to help you make the most of using your laptop, mobiles and tablets.
We will be Running SEPARATE 8 weeks courses
IT for Absolute Beginners
10 – 11:45am for Men (starting Wednesday 4th November)
If you have never used a computer before or get to scared when you see one this is the course for you. These sessions will take a fun approach to help you overcome any fears you may have. We will start from turning the computer on; using keyboard and mouse; using desktop and icons; opening programmes and understanding what is in front of you. The group will be able to work at their own pace and feel free to ask questions; try out basic games to improve mouse control. We will also look at the basics of working a tablet and mobile phone.
IT FOR Beginners
9:30 – 11am for Women (starting Wednesday 16th September)
We will cover topics such as basic browsing on internet; staying safe online; setting up email account; understanding files & downloads and installing software. We will also look at what tasks you want to learn, i.e., using tablets or laptops to access the news, games to help with learning or improving English; help to set up online banking, shopping or help to understand setting up a Universal Credit account / benefits; and using the internet to find out about other support services you can access.
We will then be running classes for Beginners for MAles in January 2021 and classes for Intermediate level in february 2021. More information to follow.
